Today’s Reception Selection is a spot that has gained a ton of popularity in the Dallas-Fort Worth area over the last year or so. Piazza in the Village is an ideal spot for couples looking to host their wedding and reception in the same location and are open to a venue outside of the Dallas or Fort Worth city limits. Piazza in the Village is located in Colleyville, just west of the DFW airport, and boasts a unique stone architecture that makes for fabulous photos.
With an on-site chapel, Piazza in the Village is a great fit for couples who want to keep the traditional feel to their ceremonies while having the convenience of one location for both the ceremony and reception. The chapel is stunning in its simplicity, yet it has state of the art technology including being wired with cameras to capture the entire ceremony seamlessly.
One of my favorite parts of Piazza in the Village is the gorgeous bridal suite. With ample space for the bride, bridesmaids and mother of the bride to get primped, it’s a plush retreat prior to the ceremony. The space includes vanity stations, an iPod docking station, separate bathroom and a garment steamer. The groom’s suite is equally inviting and includes an Xbox 360 gaming system. To say that they thought of everything might just be an understatement!
Oh, and remember that state of the art technology I talked about? Well, brides can watch from the bridal suite as their guests arrive. How cool is that?!
For receptions, Piazza in the Village has it down pat with their Grand Ballroom. With an add-on light package, couples don’t have to worry with bringing in outside vendors to light up their reception space. Plus the venue has all the tables and chairs a couple could possibly need. And with many of the venues preferred vendors (DJs, florals, cake) located in retail spaces in the surrounding “Village,” couples don’t need to go far to pull together all the details for their weddings.
The one downfall with Piazza’s location is the construction that’s taking place around the airport and on Highway 26. I’ve been caught one too many times in the construction traffic, so guests should be directed to the backroads that can get them to the venue without having to hit the highway construction.
Piazza in the Village is a great option for couples who want to simplify their planning. Be forewarned though, there isn’t a lot of flexibility when it comes to weddings at this venue. Ceremony times are scheduled for 10 a.m., 3 p.m. or 7 p.m. Period. If you’ve always thought you would have a 5:00 or 6:00 or even 6:30 ceremony, this isn’t the venue for you as there is no wiggle room. They’ve determined exactly what time ceremonies must start and receptions must conclude in order to get one couple out and the next couple in, so long set-up times and flexible start times just aren’t an option here.
I’m working with a bride for her wedding here in June that I’m super excited about, so I will definitely check back in with the full report about Piazza in the Village after the event!
