Dallas Reception Selection – Old Red Museum

I’ve been checking venues off my list to visit left and right, and I have a whole batch of reception places to tell you about in the coming weeks. I have to say, if you are planning a wedding in Dallas, you have so many options for event space. Whether you are looking for a hip, modern space (like eM the Venue), more of a blank slate that you can transform into something unique (like 129 Leslie or Studios 1019), or something a little more traditional (like the Hall of State), Dallas truly has something for everyone. Sure, a really large guest list or a really small budget will limit your options, but Dallas has plenty of event spaces to go around. Let’s check out another one, shall we?

The Old Red Museum of Dallas County History & Culture is located in downtown Dallas and plays hosts to wedding ceremonies, receptions and all sorts of corporate and private events. Built in 1892, the restored Old Red Courthouse is adjacent to the JFK Memorial and Dealey Plaza, a definite point of interest for out-of-town guests.

The Old Red Museum is perfect for someone wanting to have a wedding ceremony and reception in the same venue. The Restoration Room makes an ideal ceremony spot, with a picturesque corner area perfect for saying I do.

The Great Room, located just down the hall, makes for an ideal reception spot, seating as many as 300.

While the Old Red Museum certainly isn’t the least expensive space in town, it’s definitely reasonably priced and comparable to other venues in the area. For brides that need an inclusive ceremony space and want something that feels like Texas, in the heart of the city, this is a terrific option. It also has an amazing staircase that would make for some killer portraits!
