Staff Spotlight – Stephanie!

Meet Stephanie, our Communications Specialist at Hitched Events! She’s typically the one behind our blog posts and social media, but you’ll also find her assisting on most weddings days. To read her full bio, you can visit our main website, but here are a few fun facts along with some of her headshots by Shannon Skloss Photography!

What’s the last thing you watched on TV? I’m pretty sure I cleared out our DVR of Bravo reality shows. It’s my not-so-secret addiction. What can I say? I like my downtime tv to be a bit mindless.

What’s the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn from your resume alone? I’m a DIY’er. I’m always the person who will attempt to create something on my own before I pay for it. This is probably why I ended up designing my own wedding suite and all of the paper goods for my wedding! These days I get my kicks by personalizing things for my kiddos and friends.

What do you do to get rid of stress? It’s so cliche, but MOVE. Even a walk around the block. I’m my best self when I do something active each day. I also schedule a monthly massage.

What is something you are obsessed with? You can always find me browsing through social media to grab inspiration for just about everything. I love to take the ideas that I find and put my own twist on them. It’s a great way to stay creative!

What’s your favorite way to waste time? Instagram stories (see above). They suck you in and, next thing you know, an hour (or two) has passed!

Do you have any pets? What are their names? We have two dogs – our mutt, Chango, who showed up on our doorstep. He’s a small little dog, with a mighty personality. His name means monkey in Spanish – my father-in-law called him that when he first saw him and the name stuck! We also have Lola, a blonde Cairn Terrier who might be the yappiest dog known to man.

If you had intro music, what song would it be? Why? Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve. I’ve loved this song ever since I heard it on Cruel Intentions. It *may* have even been on our wedding website way back in the day. Of all of these questions, this one I’ve probably thought about way too much through the years.

Who in your life brings you the most joy? My family. My husband who puts up with me on a daily basis without the bat of an eye and is my best confidant, and my kids. They challenge me daily, but I never knew what life was about until I experienced it through their eyes.

Who had the biggest impact on the person you have become? My parents for sure. My mom is my best friend – she was even my Matron of Honor at my wedding! Remember that DIY thing I said earlier? I get that from her. She also likes a good party, which was clearly passed down. My dad has taught me to be strong and assertive and to get the job done – do it once, do it right, do it well!

What’s your favorite season? Why? Fall, hands down. The decor, the shift to cooler weather, the sound of football playing on the tv while I cook dinner, sitting (comfortably) on the patio for a glass of wine, the State Fair of Texas. My favorite holiday is also Thanksgiving – I love that we get together to be thankful without any presents involved (unless it falls on one of the random years where my birthday is the same as turkey day)!

What do you bring with you everywhere you go? Sunglasses. My husband always makes fun of me but I swear that my eyes are super sensitive. I’ll usually have a few pairs floating around in my purse.

If you could plan your wedding again, what’s one thing you would do differently? Seated dinner. Hands down. My guests didn’t realize that there were MULTIPLE food stations with different types of food at our wedding.

Coming Soon – Mr. and Mrs. Koch!

It’s rare when we not only get engagement pictures of our couples, but also pictures of when the big question was popped – and, in this case, on a gondola in Italy! Here’s a little background on our next Hitched Events couple that they shared:

Amanda and Steve met in 2012, not long after Steve moved to Texas. After a few drinks and a game of darts, they quickly found themselves on a path to forever. In 2017 they took a trip to Italy and started out in Venice, where Steve proposed at sunset on a gondola under the Bridge of Sighs. Legend has it that if you kiss under the bridge at sunset your love will last forever!

Amanda and Steve are set to be married and celebrate their reception this weekend the Nasher Sculpture Center. We can’t wait to work with some amazing vendors (Marquee Event Rentals, Branching Out Events, BBJ Linen, John Christopher Photographs + Films, Tony Valadez Photography, The Motion Band and more)!

Here’s a few snaps taken during, and immediately after, their engagement!

Staff Spotlight – Chelsea!

Meet Chelsea – resident client turned Hitched Events Event Coordinator! We thought you might like to get to know her beyond her main biography, so we’re sharing some fun tidbits, and some beautiful headshots by Shannon Skloss Photography, with you today!

What’s the last thing you watched on TV? Ferdinand the Bull with my son James.

What’s the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn from your resume alone? My family owns and operates a wine vineyard.

What do you do to get rid of stress? Play tennis… it’s a new found love for me after playing competitive soccer for 15 years of my life growing up.

What is something you are obsessed with? My kids, James and Kate, are my little sidekicks and, in my opinion, the cutest kids EVER… but I might be biased!

What’s your favorite way to waste time? Swimming and hanging out pool side with my family.

Do you have any pets? What are their names? Yes, two german shepherds, Birdie and Rambo.

If you had intro music, what song would it be? Why? “Can’t Stop The Feeling” by Justin Timberlake. This is such a catchy, upbeat song that gets everyone dancing and always puts a smile on my face when I hear it played, regardless if it’s the 100th time I have had to hear it while watching Trolls with my kids.

Who in your life brings you the most joy? My kids, James and Kate. They are my biggest accomplishment in life and I love our daily adventures.

Who had the biggest impact on the person you have become? My best friend and husband, Danny, who has supported me throughout our marriage and my career changes so that I could balance working and being a mom two our two kids and fur babies.

What’s your favorite season? Why? Fall, even though we don’t really get a fall here in Dallas. I loved fall when we lived in Chicago – when the leaves turn and the temperature begins to drop and you can bring out the fall wardrobe.

What do you bring with you everywhere you go? Wet wipes, they can be used for everything.

If you could plan your wedding again, what’s one thing you would do differently? I would get married in the spring vs. August in Dallas. It was 107 on our wedding day!

Happy Anniversary, Lisa & Evan!

You know it’s a busy time of the year when we are posting new couples and first anniversaries every single week around here!

Lisa and Evan were married last year at The Joule – and this wedding was a unique one for us! Not only did we work with some amazing vendors, but for the first time we also worked with another planner, Anna You from The Prologue Team, to coordinate the Korean ceremony that day. Many thanks to Dr. Delphinium Designs & Events, POSH Couture Rentals, DJ Connection, and more, who helped make this day so beautiful.

Now let’s revisit their day with some gorgeous photography by Andrew Chan!

Cheers to your first year of marriage!

Coming Soon – Mr. & Mrs. Martin!

The fall wedding season is in full swing, and we can’t wait for Brittany and Grant’s wedding and reception this weekend at the Belo Mansion! These two actually met way back in middle school. Now let’s see some peeks of their gorgeous engagement session taken at the Dallas Arboretum with Perez Photography

How adorable is their sweet pup, Sophie? We love that they incorporated her into their engagement session!

We’re looking forward to working with The Garden Gate, Fancy Cakes by Lauren, Absolute Lighting, Perch Event Decor, BBJ Linen, Quest Events, In 10 City Band, and so many more, on this wedding!

Staff Spotlight – Kimberly!

Meet Kimberly – Owner and Principal Event Planner for Hitched Events. You can read Kimberly’s full bio on our website, but we thought we’d have her answer 12 fun questions here so that you can get to know her a little better, and we can show off some of her beautiful headshots by Shannon Skloss Photography!

What’s the last thing you watched on TV? Most likely something on Bravo! Real Housewives of Pick-Any-City and Below Deck are some of my faves.

What’s the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn from your resume alone? I used to be a dance instructor, choreographer, and professional dancer. It seems like a lifetime ago, but I still have a love for all things dance.

What do you do to get rid of stress? Massages are my favorite thing to relax. If I had the money (and time) to do one a week, I totally would! And not just an hour massage… 90-minutes is where it’s at!

What is something you are obsessed with? The HauteLook app by Nordstrom Rack. I do almost all of my shopping online, and it’s an awesome app for finding deals on great brands. Plus, you can make returns directly to a Nordstrom Rack store.

What’s your favorite way to waste time? Did I mention Bravo? Reality television is totally my biggest time waster. I think it’s nice to have some mindless entertainment every now and then.

Do you have any pets? What are their names? A 70-lb German Shorthaired Pointer named Deacon. He’s my child!

If you had intro music, what song would it be? Why? “Run the World (Girls)” by Beyonce. I mean… is there any bigger girl boss than Beyonce?!?

Who in your life brings you the most joy? My husband, Clint! We’ve been married for 7 years and together for more than 10, and he’s without a doubt my best friend. He makes me laugh constantly.

Who had the biggest impact on the person you have become? Definitely my mom. She is hardworking, dedicated, and to be quite honest, a bit of a workaholic… characteristics I definitely inherited!

What’s your favorite season? Why? Definitely fall. I love when the weather is cool but not cold, plus I love fall fashion. Tall boots with jeans make me happy.

What do you bring with you everywhere you go? My phone. That’s a lame answer, but it’s true.

If you could plan your wedding again, what’s one thing you would do differently? I would have hired a professional videographer.
