Here’s a bit more about this next Hitched Events couple… with some of their super cute engagement pictures by Elisabeth Carol Photography!
Erica and Austin met at a work happy hour when Erica was an Intern and Austin was a Consultant at the same company. They hit it off instantly, and, a few days later, Austin asked Erica on their first date through their intra-office messaging system. Erica responded how any responsible 24 year old adult would by telling him she would need to check with her parents first. Luckily, Erica’s parents allowed her on the date, which happened to be around the corner from our wedding reception at Trinity Groves in Dallas.
Fast forward a few weeks to when Austin met Erica’s parents at Red Dress Run in New Orleans and where they decided to officially start dating (while both in red dresses). Erica and Austin dated long distance through most of Erica’s senior year at LSU and picked things back up again when she moved back to Dallas. Erica and Austin have grown their relationship over the last 3 years and have shared many great memories taking trips together, spending time with their families and friends, and exploring the Dallas area.
Austin proposed on May 25, 2018 – he told Erica that they were going to dinner with his family. When they arrived “early” they went on a walk and ended up walking to Grapevine Lake with a basket. Little did Erica know, the basket included a photo album with pictures of where they had met, all of their vacations and highlighted memories of the two together. The last picture was one at Grapevine, where he said he’d propose. Bam! Austin proposed over the lake and all their family and friends met them after!
We cannot get over how cute our next couple, Shelby and Brooks, are! Their NYC engagement photos by Carter Fish seriously have us swooning.
There’s no better person to tell their story than Shelby herself, so here it is…
Brooks and I met through mutual friends in October 2015 in Dallas. I wasn’t immediately interested in Brooks, but he was incredibly patient, yet persistent, and convinced me to go on our first date three months later. Our first date consisted of drinks at Happiest Hour and a Dallas Stars game. We had so much fun that night!
We had only been dating about 10 months when Brooks found out that he would be moving to NYC for his job. He moved in December 2016 and we did long distance for 6 months before I decided to switch to travel nursing to live out this adventure with him.
Fast forward to January 2018… Brooks and I had talked about marriage multiple times. It was definitely something we both wanted but I didn’t know how he would propose or when.
Knowing my love of Instagram pictures, Brooks set up a photo shoot with Carter Fish around NYC for my birthday. We spent the morning running all around New York City shooting pictures and having so much fun – not once did I expect a proposal.
When we got to our final location, Brooks started leading me up the stairs to the rooftop of a restaurant. I was so confused but once we got to the the top of the stairs I saw a box that had my new initials on it and it hit me. It was happening!
Somehow, in the hustle and bustle of NYC, Brooks was able to find a spot where it could be just the two of us. No locals. No tourists. Just us… and champagne. If you’ve ever been to New York, you understand how big of an accomplishment this was.
It’s a day I never want to forget and I know I will feel the same about our wedding day! I’ve known since our first date that I wanted to marry Brooks so I am giddy knowing that I now get to spend forever loving him!
We are so excited to celebrate their wedding and reception this weekend at Arlington Hall at Oak Lawn Park. Stay tuned to our Instagram to see their wedding day unfold!
Our relationship screams High School Sweethearts. Our first date was to Homecoming, we became boyfriend and girlfriend at a high school football game, and our first real date was at a movie theatre in a mall! After three Homecomings and two proms, we finally got to navigate a new city together as we attended the University of Texas in Austin!
It is truly a blessing to have already witnessed so much of each other’s life. To grow up and grow together as a couple is such a unique part of our story that we love. Our stories are entwined as we experienced every major life milestone together up until this point and we cannot wait to experience all that is to come together.
So cute, you two! And it wouldn’t be a proper post without sharing more of their beautiful engagement photos by Perez Photography!
We can’t wait for this weekend – it’s going to be beautiful!
We can’t believe that it’s been an entire year since Hannah and Clint said “I do!” at Highland Park United Methodist Church and had a gorgeous pink and gold reception at the Belo Mansion. These two celebrated their first anniversary yesterday, and we can’t help but share their day again!
We are so excited for Joseph and Luke’s wedding and reception this weekend at The Adolphus! These two met in Dallas at a pool party – and they are getting married exactly ten years to the day that they originally met!
As Luke says, “we went out a few days later, and have been inseparable ever since!” They were engaged during a trip to Australia when Luke got down on one knee right near the water.
We love a quick turnaround, and when Nice Shot Films sent over Jenna and Drew’s sneak peek last week, we were all swooning behind the computer screen. Their wedding turned The Filter Building into a literal secret garden! But, don’t just listen to us, take a look at their dreamy day below…
We’re kicking off the first day of March with a wedding – woo hoo! Our next couple, Jenna and Drew, first met in high school when he was her tutor. While some feelings might have been happening between the two of them back then, it wasn’t until Jenna’s brother reintroduced them ten years later at brunch for the timing to be right. Drew asked her on a date on the spot, and the rest is history!
Drew popped the question on Jenna’s 30th birthday. He planned an entire day of their favorite things – a run on White Rock Lake, brunch, and a tour of the Twelve Days of Christmas at the Dallas Arboretum. He then took her to a suite at The Joule, where the room was decorated and he finally asked her to be his wife!
