Meet Stephanie, our Communications Specialist at Hitched Events! She’s typically the one behind our blog posts and social media, but you’ll also find her assisting on most weddings days. To read her full bio, you can visit our main website, but here are a few fun facts along with some of her headshots by Shannon Skloss Photography!
What’s the last thing you watched on TV? I’m pretty sure I cleared out our DVR of Bravo reality shows. It’s my not-so-secret addiction. What can I say? I like my downtime tv to be a bit mindless.
What’s the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn from your resume alone? I’m a DIY’er. I’m always the person who will attempt to create something on my own before I pay for it. This is probably why I ended up designing my own wedding suite and all of the paper goods for my wedding! These days I get my kicks by personalizing things for my kiddos and friends.
What do you do to get rid of stress? It’s so cliche, but MOVE. Even a walk around the block. I’m my best self when I do something active each day. I also schedule a monthly massage.
What is something you are obsessed with? You can always find me browsing through social media to grab inspiration for just about everything. I love to take the ideas that I find and put my own twist on them. It’s a great way to stay creative!
What’s your favorite way to waste time? Instagram stories (see above). They suck you in and, next thing you know, an hour (or two) has passed!
Do you have any pets? What are their names? We have two dogs – our mutt, Chango, who showed up on our doorstep. He’s a small little dog, with a mighty personality. His name means monkey in Spanish – my father-in-law called him that when he first saw him and the name stuck! We also have Lola, a blonde Cairn Terrier who might be the yappiest dog known to man.
If you had intro music, what song would it be? Why? Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve. I’ve loved this song ever since I heard it on Cruel Intentions. It *may* have even been on our wedding website way back in the day. Of all of these questions, this one I’ve probably thought about way too much through the years.
Who in your life brings you the most joy? My family. My husband who puts up with me on a daily basis without the bat of an eye and is my best confidant, and my kids. They challenge me daily, but I never knew what life was about until I experienced it through their eyes.
Who had the biggest impact on the person you have become? My parents for sure. My mom is my best friend – she was even my Matron of Honor at my wedding! Remember that DIY thing I said earlier? I get that from her. She also likes a good party, which was clearly passed down. My dad has taught me to be strong and assertive and to get the job done – do it once, do it right, do it well!
What’s your favorite season? Why? Fall, hands down. The decor, the shift to cooler weather, the sound of football playing on the tv while I cook dinner, sitting (comfortably) on the patio for a glass of wine, the State Fair of Texas. My favorite holiday is also Thanksgiving – I love that we get together to be thankful without any presents involved (unless it falls on one of the random years where my birthday is the same as turkey day)!
What do you bring with you everywhere you go? Sunglasses. My husband always makes fun of me but I swear that my eyes are super sensitive. I’ll usually have a few pairs floating around in my purse.
If you could plan your wedding again, what’s one thing you would do differently? Seated dinner. Hands down. My guests didn’t realize that there were MULTIPLE food stations with different types of food at our wedding.
