The question of whether to hire a videographer is a refrain that seems to play over and over again…to which I think we all would give you a resounding YES! Hitched Events bride Sara McDow is no exception. For her, the video was not on her must-have list, but she is singing a different tune now…. And BONUS, Sara’s husband has some great advice too! Check back next week when we will share his insight on the wedding process.

Take it from me, Sara McDow: Hire a videographer.
I know, I know. It seems like an easy budget cut to make, but please reconsider! To be honest, it wasn’t one of my “must-haves”, but it was one of my mom’s. I couldn’t be happier with the decision.
Our photographer took beautiful pictures, but our video captured the day in a completely different way. There’s just something about hearing our vows and watching my groom’s expression change as the he saw me walk down the aisle – not to mention catching our friends’ dance moves at the reception.
When my husband and I watched our wedding video for the first time, we found ourselves saying “Oh! I had forgotten that!” or “I totally missed that!” more times than either of us expected. It’s so fun to see the moments that I missed, like my groom opening his gift from me while getting ready. And, photos could never capture the sound of the strings at the church or the thoughtful prepared speeches by our bridal party.
You know the day will be a blur. It goes by so fast! I’m so thankful that our videographer, Daniel at Lynn Films, captured all the big moments, and plenty of small ones, too.
Check out Sara and Mark’s video!
Wasn’t that great?! I have to agree with everything Sara said. The video just brings all of those memories back and gives you a peek at the things you didn’t see! Don’t forget to check back next week when we hear from Sara’s groom, Mark!
