30 Days of Thankful – Something You…Makeup Artistry

Every bride should look and feel amazing on their wedding day, and having a professional makeup artist as part of your wedding vendor team is without a doubt the way to go for a flawless look. One makeup artist we are incredibly thankful for is Something You… Makeup Artistry and Hair Design.

Owner and Principal Artist Shannon Caldwell knows her way around a makeup brush (and airbrush makeup wand!). Specializing in airbrush foundation (which I absolutely love for a picture-perfect, porcelain finish and makeup that lasts literally all day long), Shannon is a master with color and excels with all types of skin tones. In fact, when it was time for Emily and I to take new headshots for the Hitched Events “about” page on the website, we put our faces in Shannon’s capable hands. She not only nailed a beautiful and natural look for Emily, but was able to perfectly match my sometimes-hard-to-find-a-perfect-foundation-for complexion.

One of the many things I love about working with Shannon is that she always (and I mean ALWAYS) finishes on time. Since hair and makeup is often one of the first things on my timeline for the event, if an artist is running significantly behind schedule, everything gets delayed. I never have this fear when working with Shannon. I can leave my bridal party in the hands of the Something You team and know that they will be perfectly primped and out the door when they are supposed to be.

Not only is she just as much a fan of staying on schedule as I am, but Shannon’s warm and down-to-earth demeanor is an absolute joy to have around on wedding day. Part Mama Bear and part bride psychologist, Shannon is a master at keeping our clients calm, cool and collected the morning of their weddings and making sure they feel just as amazing as they look once they leave her chair.

We are thankful for you Something You… Makeup Artistry and Hair Design! We can’t wait to rock out a couple of weddings together this month!
