Gestures of Affection

I received this Gestures of Affection infographic from the folks at SimplyBridal.com, and I just had to share it. Not only did it crack me up (I mean, when was the last time you saw a fist bump on an infographic?), but I love the fact that it breaks down common greetings and when to make the jump from handshake to hug. With lots of wedding guests wanting to greet you and say hello (including some that you may have never met, like friends of your parents or dates of your invited guests), this can come in handy for navigating the hug vs. handshake vs. cheek kiss dilemma.

I’m generally a hugger (We’ve met once? Let’s hug it out!), unless it’s a formal business situation, but living on the east coast for a few years where the hug/cheek kiss combo isn’t uncommon even blurred that a bit.

So, what do you think? Do you think the breakdown above is accurate? Or do you have your own rules?
