It’s hard to believe that we’re already approaching month three of 2012. The year is 1/6 of the way over! How did this happen?!
Now is about the time that those old habits start slipping back into play and New Year’s resolutions seem like a thing of the past. At the end of last year, I posted a few of my goals for 2012, mentioning that consistency is the underlying theme. So… how am I doing? Let’s just say, I’m one for three.
- Workout Consistently – 3+ Times a Week: I’m rocking this one out. I started a 10-week kickboxing boot camp at the first of the year that’s 6 days a week (3 days of cardio kickboxing, 3 days of resistance training), and I’m loving it. I’ve only missed one class, and it was because I had a client meeting that couldn’t be rescheduled. My 10-week session ends next week, so I’m trying to figure out what my next plan of attack will be, but I’m definitely dedicated to my daily workouts.
- Blog Consistently – 3+ Times a Week: Ummm… not so much. I’ve had some good weeks. I’ve had some not so good weeks. When I get super busy at the office, blogging is the first thing to fall by the wayside, and I’ve decided I’m o.k. with that. I’d much rather have happy clients than a frequently updated blog. I’m certainly going to keep trying to blog three times a week, but I’m not going to be devastated if I don’t make the self-imposed quota.
- Figure out Twitter and Use It Consistently: Oh, Twitter. I try. I really do. But I still haven’t figured out how to incorporate it into my daily existence. Perhaps I need to find a seminar on this one. Or find someone who will tweet interesting things on my behalf. Regardless, I definitely have not mastered this piece of social media, but I haven’t given up all hope yet.

Hey one out of three isn’t bad! And I love Twitter but I am horrible at using it consistently. I am way too busy to tweet on a daily basis!!

Pack Workout Clothes for Following Day
Pack Lunch for Following Day
I’ve been using the Habit Streak App as well as the tasks widget on my phone and I was definitely kicking butt at accomplishing my list. But, I went out of town and then got sick, so I’ve been off kilter for the last week or so. I’m finally feeling better today, so I’m going to try to start another streak of healthy habits 🙂
P.S. I think doubling one of your goals (working out 6 days a week when your goal is only 3) definitely earns extra points.
