Kimberly is an event planning guru.
Looking for a pro? You found her! Looking for experience? Kimberly’s got 16 years worth, and a whole slew of stories to go with it.
A graduate of Southern Methodist University, Kimberly quickly found success planning events for a multi-chain retailer followed by a financial services firm. It wasn’t too long, though, before romance (and a future husband!) led her to the Big Apple where she tackled her role as Director of College Events and Programs for Columbia University, planning big budget events worldwide. We’re talking multi-million dollar events with thousands of attendees. But that romantic streak had other plans. See, it took planning her own wedding for Kimberly to realize this whole wedding planning thing was where she wanted to focus her event planning expertise. So, in 2011, Kimberly and her husband Clint moved back to the Dallas area, and Hitched Events was born!
Kimberly’s superpower is her ability to listen. She’s not just a wedding planner, she’s a confidante, part-time therapist, and advocate for her clients. Kimberly’s unique connection to her clients means she knows their likes and dislikes like the back of her hand, and her skill for playing matchmaker means she knows what they want before they do, and the best place to get it. In other words, you need her in your life… ASAP.
Sure, Kimberly eats, sleeps, and breathes weddings, but that doesn’t mean she still can’t find time to hang with her hubby, and her (ahem, super spoiled) dog, Deacon!
Kimberly is a Professional Wedding Planner with the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC), a Certified Wedding Planner with the American Association of Certified Wedding Planners (AACWP), and a member of the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the National Association of Catering and Events (NACE), where she serves on the Board of Directors. She received the “Rising Star of the Year” Award from the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of NACE in 2014 and was named the “Event Professional of the Year” in 2015.
Emily dreams of weddings.
Originally from the Houston area, Emily found her way to Dallas-Fort Worth after graduating from Texas Tech University. Her professional career kicked off with a gig coordinating trade shows around the country, from New York to Palm Springs, but no matter how far she traveled, she yearned to be part of a very different kind of event: weddings. In 2012, Emily connected with Kimberly and a freshly founded Hitched Events in the hope of breaking into the industry she’d dreamt of since she was a kid. From that first interaction, Emily moved quickly from dreamer to team member, from Hitched Events assistant to Event Coordinator, to her current role manning the Hitched Events blog and social media accounts.
These days, Emily is the busy mom of an adorable daughter. Emily loves spending time outdoors with her family, cooking up a delicious meal with her husband, Scott, and a nice relaxing glass of wine.
Chelsea. The single most organized bride in Hitched Events history.
Yep, that’s Chelsea, who grew up in Coppell, Texas and attended Southern Methodist University, earning a degree in Marketing. Her career kicked off in the software industry, but it wasn’t until she started planning her own nuptials (with the guidance of Hitched Events!) that Chelsea fell head over heels for the wedding industry. In fact, Kimberly was so blown away by Chelsea’s passion for planning, she just had to add her to the team!
Unmatched in both enthusiasm and professionalism, nothing fuels Chelsea more than the prospect of making a couple’s vision a reality and ensuring every detail of their day is as beautiful as the love they share.
Although she’s passionate about perfecting every last detail of her clients’ events, Chelsea’s also all about spending time with her two beloved German Shepherds and cuddling up with her precious family (and maybe a nice glass of wine from their family winery, Wilderotter Vineyards).
Chelsea is an active member of the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE).
Stephanie has a fine eye for fine details.
A native of Rockwall, Texas, Stephanie graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. Stephanie’s love of event planning started with planning her own wedding. She decided to leave the corporate world soon after her own wedding and transitioned to event planning for her Alma Mater, where she spent nearly three years assisting in all sorts of University events. But it was the individuality and creativity of wedding planning that really set fire to Stephanie’s imagination, and spurred her move to the Hitched Events team.
Stephanie loves weddings, from the first spark of inspiration, to the marriage of design and ambiance at the final event. To Stephanie, even a well-oiled post-event cleanup is a marker of success, but the best reward is always seeing all those happy faces as the day unfolds.
In her down time? Stephanie loves to hang with her husband and their two lovely kids, whether vegging out with some sports on TV, indulging her foodie side on a fun date night, or expressing her creativity outside of events by designing beautiful paper goods.
Deacon believes you’re only a tail wag away from a great wedding.
Born in the Catskills of New York, Deacon yearned for the bright lights of the big city as a young pup. He quickly found companions in the Rhodes family and has been their sidekick in journeys across the country ever since.
When Kimberly founded Hitched Events, Deacon quickly assumed the role of unofficial Hitched Events mascot. Although his schedule as a dog-paw model and spokesdog for Squirrel Chasers Organization Of Texas (SCOOT) keeps him quite busy, he still finds time to make occasional guest appearances at the Hitched Events office.
When he’s not at the office, Deacon is an obsessive fetcher and can be found emptying his toy box to find anything that his father can throw.
