Caroline and Kyle are the next Hitched Events couple to tie the knot! True story.. I’ve known Caroline longer than I’ve known my own husband. I swear! Caroline was one of my dance students when she was in junior high, and I couldn’t be more excited to watch her and Kyle get married this weekend!

These two met at a wedding and dated through college. Caroline was part of the Showgirls at TCU, dancing and cheering at TCU football, basketball, and baseball games and other TCU events while Kyle was playing football at SMU. While these two call Fort Worth home, they’ll be getting married in the Big D!

Check out some of their gorgeous engagement photos at the Dallas Arboretum from Perez Photography!

One year ago today we were celebrating the marriage of Michelle and Lane! I’ll be honest.. when we were looking at wedding venues the year before we went in the middle of a random Dallas snowstorm! Luckily for this sweet couple, the weather on their wedding day was abs.olute.ly. PERFECT! You couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful February day!

Michelle and Lane had such a wonderful wedding video sneak peek from Handcrafted Wedding Films and some gorgeous photos by Evan Godwin Photography. Enjoy some of our favorites from their big day!

We are so lucky to spend time with some of the nicest and most genuine people ever! Kasey and Brick were first married in 1998 and this past summer they were ready to have the wedding they always dreamed of. They were surrounded by their family, friends, and church community at their gorgeous purple inspired vow renewal. Of course, we thought this was one vow renewal for the books.. but we’re also so incredibly honored that the fine people at MunaLuchi Bride felt the same way!

MunaLuchi is the combination of two African names which when fused together mean, “Beautiful Work of God“, is the leading multicultural wedding publication catering to women of color. This past week they did a wonderful post on Kasey and Brick’s vow renewal. Head over to their blog to read about how Kasey and Brick met, why they decided to have a vow renewal, and of course.. to check out some absolutely gorgeous photos from Jenny & Eddie!

Don’t forget to also check out their sneak peek from John Christopher Photographs + Films!

New year, new blogging bride! Meet our January blogging bride, Rebecca!

Happy Anniversary Rebecca and Craig 9

Couple: Rebecca and Craig

Wedding date: December 20, 2014

Ceremony location: Park Cities Presbyterian Church

Reception location: Omni Dallas Hotel

Photographer: Sara & Rocky

Hitched Events: How did you and Craig meet?

Rebecca Carpenter: We met at the end of our first year of law school. We were just friends for the next semester, and then, pretty much overnight, we started dating.

Tell us about your engagement!

The night before a much anticipated trip to San Francisco, Craig planned to do some of our favorite things. After dinner at Eno’s, we grabbed Paciugo and went to Lakeside Park, which is where we had our first “date.” Really, that first date entailed walking around the park with coffee until we found ourselves pretty close to a high speed chase and totally bailed. The night of our engagement was just as exciting, but obviously for different reasons. He proposed there at the park and we got to celebrate the entire long weekend in San Francisco.

How long was your engagement?

6 quick months. But as a disclaimer, we knew we wanted to get married in December, so we actually took care of some of the wedding planning before we got engaged. That way, we could get the venue and band we wanted before the big companies snatched them up for their Christmas parties.

What did you pick first.. the date or the venue?

We had it narrowed down to a month that we wanted to get married, then figured out what dates worked for both the venue and band and went with that.

Tell us about how the planning process went for you.

I am the girl that totally could have eloped and would have been happy. I hate to be the center of attention – my worst fear was that I would throw up when the church doors opened and everyone turned to watch me walk down the aisle (I didn’t – miracle). However, that would not have flown for my family (cough cough, my mom) so I did the whole big wedding thing. I picked the big items/vendors and then my mom got in there on the details. I was working full time, so I really didn’t have time to worry about every little thing (nor did I really care). A couple of months out, I think my mom was getting pretty overwhelmed (probably due to my serious apathy regarding most decisions) and she started interviewing wedding planners. My mom had someone to help with all of the details and I had someone to run interference when I wasn’t a fan of something.

What was a must have for your wedding?

A band (or great music of some kind), stellar photographer, and a wedding planner. Our band got everyone dancing and having a great time, and that was very important to us. Of course, these pictures will be something we treasure forever so, for us, that was worth the investment.

What is your favorite memory from your wedding?

The first look and the last dance. Those two moments were just for us, nothing was rushed and we could truly enjoy everything about it.

Describe your overall experience with your wedding.

It was a fantastic party.. because, let’s be real, that’s what the reception is! What my mom and Kimberly put together was absolutely beautiful and it was so much fun.

If you could give one piece of advice to a couple in the process of planning their wedding, what would it be?

Pick from the start a few things that are really important to you and focus on those things and be ready to compromise (both financially and with the other parties involved) on the other things. Also, get help — it’s too hard to plan every little piece without someone who knows what they are doing.

Thanks so much for sharing, Rebecca!

It’s another busy double wedding weekend for Hitched Events! We’ll be celebrating with Rachel and Matthew on Saturday at Royal Lane Baptist Church and The Room on Main.

Rachel and Matt first met at a party the week before medical school started. Rachel was instantly drawn to Matt and he quickly became an important person in her life! They spent the next couple of years studying, taking breaks, and studying more.

After two years of dating Matt went to Rachel’s house to spend some time with her family for the holidays. Little did she know, a proposal was on the way! He got her whole family involved without her even knowing. The backyard was decorated with lights, there was a professional quality (in Rachel’s opinion!) photo album, and at the end of the album was a sweet poem that ended with “Will you marry me?”

Nearly one year after getting engaged these two are ready to tie the knot!

Thanks so much to RAP Photography for sharing some of their engagement photos!

Kasey and Brick.. oh my, where do we begin!? We just love this sweet couple so much! Kasey and Brick were first married in 1998 (that’s 18 years ago!) in a small church wedding in Pensacola, Florida. They had talked in length over the years about renewing their vows and giving themselves the wedding they’ve always dreamed of. Finding the “perfect” time to have a wedding was a bit difficult and they decided that there was no better time than the present to celebrate their marriage!

We are so very excited to show you their vow renewal sneak peek from John Christopher Photographs + Films.. enjoy!

We love you Kasey and Brick and we’re so honored that we could be a part of your very special vow renewal!
